Eriskay Ponies Successfully Re-homed
Horses4Homes would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came forward to offer new homes to the 4 Eriskay ponies rescued from Farmers, Mr and Mrs Kindell, just before Christmas. Within hours of our plea for help, we received over 25 responses from kind individuals offering the ponies a home.
After careful screening to ensure the home was suitable, the ponies travelled yesterday from their temporary, emergency home in Gloucestershire to the Lake District where Lucie Stockdale and her mother will be using them as conservation graziers with their existing herd of Exmoor ponies.
Lucie is thrilled to have the ponies and has kindly offered to give them a home for life.
“It is fantastic to be able to secure the future welfare of these, fit, healthy ponies when only a few weeks ago they had no future and the fact that they are a rare breed makes it all the more special.”
If you are interested in providing a new home to a similarly vulnerable horse or pony or perhaps you have a pony that for many reasons cannot be sold but you need a new home for please contact Rebecca Evans the Horses4Homes Development Manager at Rebecca@horses4homes.net and she will help you.
