If you are an owner looking to rehome, loan or share your horse:

1. You will need to complete the listing The Horses4Homes team screen the listing prior to publication and may contact you for further information before your horse’s listing goes live on the charity website. Owners commit to being honest and transparent when signing up to list their horse with Horses4Homes.

2. Once you have listed your horse the profile will be reviewed by Horses4Homes and we may contact you for more information. It is a good idea to pick the best quality pictures to show off your horse in a number of different settings (e.g. ridden, in the stable, being loaded).  You can have even more impact if you upload a video of your horse going through their paces or being handled! Once approved the listing will go live and be accessible to people searching on the Horses4Homes site.

3. If an applicant expresses an interest in your horse and Horses4Homes deems them a suitable match, you will receive the application for review. You can select who you would like to invite to visit and decide on their suitability to rehome, loan or share your horse. If all goes well, it is advisable to offer more than one visit to ensure you have the perfect match. If you review an application and decide the applicant is not suitable it would be great if you provide constructive feedback to the applicant to help them with future applications.

4. As the owner it is recommended that you follow up on the applicant’s references and carry out a home check (if the horse is being rehomed or loaned out). If you are unable to undertake the home check, Horses4Homes can arrange this for a fee of £40. 5. Once you and the applicant are ready to proceed each party must pay any relevant fees or donations to the charity, which will depend on the type of arrangement.  For a full explanation of fees and donations click here.  Horses4Homes will draw up the bespoke rehoming, loaning or sharing agreement to be signed by the owner and the applicant. This must be completed and a copy returned to Horses4Homes before the horse is moved to their new home or the sharing arrangement started.
