Tammy Enjoying Her New Home

Tammy Enjoying Her New Home

Tammy, based in Aberdeenshire, was in urgent need of rehoming back in August this year as her elderly owners, whose health was deteriorating, were struggling to continue to care for her. As soon as Tammy was listed with us, Horses4Homes set to work to find her a new forever home. Our supporters did a fantastic job raising the appeal for help and Tammy’s posting on our Facebook page remains the most popular to date. Amazingly, within less than 24 hours, we had applications for her coming in.

Our appeals for help were a huge success and the owners of Tammy were relieved when they   viewed online the credible applications backed up with references. Tammy was soon after rehomed to a super lady called Gemma, not too far away, who keeps in touch with her previous owner and has invited them to visit.
The Highland mare had not been previously broken despite her 10 years of age and Gemma is thrilled with her calm attitude. Gemma updated us just recently to say that: She is doing great I am very proud of her! She takes everything in her stride, with her loving personality she has quickly become part of the family! “
Tammy‘s previous owner Loraine had this to say about her experience of using Horses4Homes, “We are so pleased to have found a forever home for our beloved horse Tamarisk through Horses4Homes. Rebecca has been absolutely fantastic at keeping us informed at all times and offering advice along the way. It is a wonderful charity and a really brilliant idea! We give our heartfelt thanks to Rebecca for all her help which was much appreciated by both myself and my parents.”
