Poppy
Description
Poppy is a sweet natured purebred Friesian mare who has had issues in her past regarding riding. She is healthy and sound but I’m looking for a special home where she can be loved as a non ridden companion for this reason. She loves to go on inhand hacks with other horses and turns out with mares and geldings and is in the middle/bottom of the pecking order. She is very gentle and loving and loves having a fuss and cuddles. She is great with the farrier, vet etc and is great with dogs too. She can be reluctant to load but with a little time and patience she will go on quietly with another horse. We have taken her to our local woods and to a fun show and she was very well behaved.
Problems
Poppy is not to be ridden. She is happy to go on in hand hacks with another horse/s and would probably be led from another horse but I haven't tried it myself.
Health Issues
Poppy does suffer from sweet itch but this is controllable. She is currently not vaccinated but if the loaner wants to do it that is fine. She is up to date with the farrier (barefoot) and has regular check ups with the back lady.
Ideal Home
Poppy will be best suited to a home with at least 2 or more other horses nearby as she is not happy to be left alone. If there is only 1 other horse then this horse should be retired. I have not stabled her as she has lived out with access to a large shelter all year round unrugged.
