Description

Alan is a kind and loving boy  by, he’s sweet and full of character .
After 11 years, due to unforeseen circumstances I urgently need to rehome him.

He’s great for the farrier , loading , to bring in and clipping.  Slight sedation when having teeth done. Very sensitive mane/neck- can’t pull mane .

Stabled in winter at night with daily turnout -this is a must. Requires a strong confident handler to turn out.
Lives out in the summer.

Not rideable due to arthritis in neck , shoulder and hips . He’s 20 and 15.3.

Prefers to be with a herd but has always had individual turnout.
He will come with rugs, stable and turnout. And any other bits he has like feed bins bowls boots etc.

Problems

Rotational falls, been retired 3 years this year. May be able to walk out but Alan wouldn’t want to just walk! Hes a jiggy jogger. But he was a saint to ride. Always looked after you. Alan will come with all his rugs.

Health Issues

Arthitis and stringhalt . Alan is currently not on any medication, he shows no signs of pain and is sound. All vacs and teeth upto date

Ideal Home

As mentioned winter turnout is a must, this can be a grassed paddock or a turnout pen. He loves to roll and stretch his legs . Alan can be strong to turn out in winter , never horrid. Just excited to roll. he loves treats and cuddles. Knows his stretches routine . can be fussy with feeds so has always been on the same chaff and nuts and doesn’t make him fizzy and maintains weight well. He has a hatbox that can go with him as I don’t use hay nets , as lib hay and hay eta can irritate his neck arthritis. if you want to know more please do get in touch. I want the best home possible for my lovely boy!
