Description

Lovely irish sport horse mare with a sweet temperament (she loves scratches) looking for a long term loan home with the possibility of eventual rehoming/sale should she prove a good fit for someone. Currently out of work (not her fault), but a good all rounder under saddle when fit.

Problems

R is cautious around new places and people, so she may take a few weeks to relax. This mainly shows itself as her being a bit jumpy when she first meets people. After this she is very affectionate and enjoys attention. Good to load. Usually good to catch (can take a minute if it is windy/she is meeting someone new). No stable vices. She is nervous around her feet. Currently not shod and perfectly happy to have her feet rasped by a quiet farrier (she is a bit nervous around men in general). Has been shod in the past, but would need working up to a full set. Has been clipped previously. She is a forward ride and actually quite bold under saddle. She has a good brain and enjoys polework, gridwork, learning new things. Needs a competent rider to bring her back into work and get the best out of her. She is quite a small 16hh and quite compact. I am 5ft4" and she suits me perfectly. She has a saddle and bridle avaiable + any rugs required.

Health Issues

Vaccinations are up to date (due september). She is due to see the dentist. No current health issues.

Ideal Home

Small ladies/teenagers ride. An ideal home would have (some) year round turnout with other horses. R is very social and enjoys time in the company of others. She is equally happy turned out full time/stabled at night or day, but definitely benefits from having some access to a field, even if only for a few hours. R has been out of work for the last 18 months through no fault of her own, I have simply not had enough time to keep her in work. She will need bringing back into work starting from the ground up. She is a forward ride, sharp of the leg and relatively green for her age. For this reason, she is not a novice ride. She benefits from a quiet rider. Whilst she would be perfectly happy as a companion, once in work she would suit someone who would like an allround performer. She has 3 good paces and a great jump.
