Carl Hester's Valegro Raises Funds for Horses4Homes
Horses4Homes is incredibly lucky to have Carl as its Patron. He is a fantastic horseman and was quoted as being the backbone of Team GB Dressage, the glue that held the team together during the London 2012 Olympics. As for his protégée Charlotte Dujardin, her incredible achievement of individual and team gold is what dreams are truly made of.
Sally Martin, the equine artist, with the agreement of Carl Hester, kindly donated her incredible picture of Valegro up for silent auction during the London 2012 Olympics. It featured in the Gallery at Greenwich which was holding an equestrian exhibition throughout the games. Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin, our incredible medallists, signed the picture and the proceeds from the auction came to Carl’s choice organisation, Horses4Homes.
The picture raised £1500 for Horses4Homes which will go a considerable way in helping us achieve the funds necessary to apply for registered charity status with the Commission. The winning bidder was a Mrs Liz Slocombe who had these kind words to say “I am truly delighted to own the picture and to also know that in purchasing it I have made a donation to such a good cause.”
Since the launch of Horses4Homes back in March this year the organisation has found exceptional homes for many special horses. Horses4Homes prides itself in finding appropriate, “forever” homes for unwanted, vulnerable horses and the feedback we have received in support Horses4Homes has far surpassed our expectations.
Alternatively, if you have a horse in the UK or Republic of Ireland that needs to find a new home please follow the steps to Rehome a Horse. It is entirely free to list any horse with Horses4Homes. Unlike any other site, all potential new owners & loanees have to apply for your horse and demonstrate they have the commitment, experience and resources to give your horse a suitable, long term home.
